Install OpenUSD extension for 3ds MAX
Follow Adobe's official guide (opens in a new tab) to install the OpenUSD extension for 3ds MAX. As of March 2024, USD for Autodesk 3ds Max version 0.6 is the latest release available. The extension is available for 3ds MAX 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Batch convert 3ds MAX files to OpenUSD
- Download the two scripts below convert-to-usd.py and convert-to-use.bat.
- Put them in the same directory as your 3ds MAX files
- Double click the
convert-to-usd.batscript.
This script will convert all 3ds MAX files in the directory to USD.
